HTC confirms One X, One S and One L Jellybean Upgrades

Samsung? You out there?

The Taiwanese smartphone juggernaut has finally answered — well, sort of.

It has been confirmed that Jellybean updates are currently being developed for some of HTC’s latest league of smartphones. Unfortunately, the company has not revealed the release time frame of the said firmwares as well as a hint whether the One V will be subjected to the same ‘sweet treatment’ or not.

Here is the official statement of HTC’s Online Communications Manager ‘Jeff Gordon’: “We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”

It is nice to know that HTC has upped its ante when it comes to firmware updates, now It’s Samsung’s [and a bunch of others] turn to roll the dice. Samsung’s incredibly diverse product portfolio can prove to be a challenge for its software development team but that is not a valid excuse to leave some of us Galaxy (N7000, i9100 and below) users in the dark. Keep those fingers crossed.
